September's Reading in Heels subscription box

September's Reading in Heels subscription box - www.nourishmeblog.co.uk

This month's Reading in Heels box has been the most exciting for me for a little while. The goodies that I've tried so far are GREAT, the book looks exciting, and I love that the colours of the box are a blend of Autumn leaf colours (yes I'm ready for the season, and I'm so not sorry about it).

The book

The cover of this is just stunning. It's simple, but so effective, and the orange spine looks v pretty on my shelves. Okay, that's a little mistruth: I've totally run out of bookshelf space now, but it does look pretty on my massive stack of books with no home next to my bookshelf.

This is a modern retelling of Vanity Fair. Becky Sharp is determined to make it to the top no matter what. Set against a backdrop of reality TV, Instagram influencers and all the other peaks and troughs of modern life, Becky wants to leave her poverty-stricken youth behind and make it big time. The  main problem is that not everyone's so happy for her.

I love a good chick flick in the Autumn: they're my go-to comfort read, and snuggling up with a good one under a blanket on a chilly evening is just the best way to spend a couple of hours.

The goodies

I'm going to kickstart this bit by talking about something that I've absolutely fallen in love with using. The Joie face oil from Juno Skincare is just divine. I put it on before bed after cleansing and toning my face and it completely hydrates my skin, making it so much softer. This has become an important part of my evening skincare routine, and it leaves me feeling a little more pampered than normal.

Mythyn's cruelty free silk bath soak is the other beauty treat in this month's book. This bath potion is filled with lavender, bergamot and natural clay, amongst other ingredients. It's designed to detoxify as well as create an uplifting atmosphere in your bathroom. I'm very excited to give this a go on a day where I feel drained and in need of an extra something.

Next up is a snack that I've got my eye on this evening. It's a grapefruit and basil infused white chocolate bar from Kacao. I love my chocolate, and this sounds like a little bit of citrusy heaven. Alongside this, we have two pouches of 'water enhancer' from Conscious Water. I imagine this is going to be a slightly healthier version of squash, although it is designed to improve your spirits in a variety of ways. The Love one is a lychee rose flavour, and hopes to nurture your heart, and help you to be in the moment. The Happiness pouch is flavoured with dragon fruit and strawberry, and hopes to help you to laugh and feel enthusiasm.

That's it for this month's box! I'm order my October one tomorrow (God bless pay day) and I can't wait to share what's in it with you all next month!
